Lloyd “Mickey” Edward Daugherty, age 78, of Sarcoxie, MO, passed away Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Mercy Hospital. He was born August 1, 1936, in Springfield, MO, to Charles and Ruth (Carl) Daugherty. He attended Calvary Christian Assembly Of God. Lloyd was saved and baptized in 1951. Lloyd proudly served in the United States Army and United States Marine Corps. He drove for Mayflower Trucking Company than later worked as a foreman for Paul Glass Drum Service, working there for eighteen years. Lloyd was a proud veteran, he enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting, especially Elk hunting, and spending time with his friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Charles Lloyd and Ruth Ellen Daugherty; his two wives, Norma and Opal; two grandchildren, Sammy and Bo; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Charles, Leroy and Paul; four sisters, Betty, Carolyn, Mary Ann, and Lena; and two infant sisters. He is survived by four children; Jeff Daugherty amd wife Kim, Sarcoxie, MO Kim Ranae Mootrey and husband JR., Stotts City, MO, Mike Daugherty and wife Sue of Republic, and Gina Riehl and husband Bill of Raleigh, ND; two step-children, Sherry Petty of Sand Springs, OK and Pam Pike and husband Gary of Barnunn, WY; twenty-two grandchildren; thirty-five great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Judy Manning and husband Gordon , Springfield and Linda Mings and husband Wallace, Greenville, SC; and a host of family and friends . Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 19, 2015, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Springfield, MO with Bro. Tom Colvard and Pastor Floyd McDonnell officiating. Services have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO.
