Lois Marie Hunter, 81, of Pittsburg, Missouri, passed away August 3, 2022, at her home. Lois was born on April 16, 1941, in Minneapolis, Kansas to Calvin and Marjorie (Walmsley) Springer. She graduated from Minneapolis High School in 1959. She married William O. Schroder in 1960 and to this union 2 boys were born, William and Paul.
Lois was a determined woman. She graduated cosmetology school in 1968. She excelled in her career, working with many famous stylists over the years. Lois loved gardening. She dedicated many hours to her plants and home; and was determined to get every leaf out of the yard. Everyone loved to drive by her home to see her beautiful work. Her neighbors loved having her there. Lois was one of the founding members of PALS, an organization in Lincoln, NE that aided in the adoption of animals. Many furry friends can thank her for their rescue.
Lois is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elmo Hunter; and her brothers: Rick Springer, Ken Springer, and an infant brother, Calvin.
She is survived by her sons: William Schroder and wife, Rochelle, and Paul Schroder and wife, Leni; grandchildren: Mitch, Heather Kingston, Brian, Matthew, John, Sheena, and Christopher Schroder; great-grandchildren: Thomas, Holden, Jeff, Raylynn, Jaylen, and Nolan; one brother, Marvin Meredith Jr.; six sisters: Charlotte, Charlene, Karen, Betty, Marva, and Becky; and a host of many other family and friends. Lois also had bonus children and grandchildren from a previous marriage, whom she dearly loved.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Baptist Church or Sue Wilson for the care of Gracie, Lois’s beloved cat.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Pitts Chapel of Bolivar.
