Lonna Sue McElwain, age 73, passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 25, 2015. She was born November 1, 1941 in Hardenville, MO the daughter of Elijah and Bessie (Hathcock) White.
Sue retired from Cox Medical Center, where she had many dear friends. Sue was a dedicated hard worker. She loved gospel and country music. Sue was a loving wife and mother who took great pride in her family and in caring for her home. Sue never met a stranger, she was loved by all.
She is survived by three loving daughters; DeAnn Reynolds and her husband John of Springfield, Lydia Cole and her husband Kraig of Republic, and Amanda Simpson and her husband Craig of Galena, grandma to; Justice and Shelby, one sister Ann Ringle and husband Ed of North Star, MI, several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clarence E. McElwain, sisters: Pauline, Bernie, Donna, and a brother Earl.
Visitation will be held Friday, February 27, 2015 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Funeral services will be Saturday at 3:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Sue is finally at peace in the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
