Lula Mae Fillmer 88, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2018, in her home. She was born January 3, 1930, in Niangua, Mo. to Francis Marion and Ethyl (Snow) Letterman. She was a homemaker and a member of the South Campbell Avenue Baptist Church. In her spare time, she loved to garden, her flowers, gardening, and helping at the church, whenever she could.
Lula was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lawrence, whom she married on April 1, 1946, in Marshfield, Mo. She was also preceded by her uncle Arbra Letterman, her brothers: Clyde Letterman, Murl Letterman, and Calvin Letterman, her sisters: Ruby Haney, Eula Faulkner a great-grand-daughter:Abbey Haworth, her niece: Carol Ghann, and son-in-law: Larry Stafford. She is survived by two daughters: Joanne Stafford, of Selmore, Mo. and Judy Johnson and her husband Steve, of Aldrich, Mo. and three sons: Larry Fillmer, of Buffalo, Mo. Roger Fillmer and his wife, Nedra, of Niangua, Mo. and David Fillmer of the home, 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, and a sister Mary Teeny) Maggard.
Lula was well known for putting family and extended family first. Many times throughout her lifetime she would lend a helping hand to numerous families in need. She will be surely missed.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 3, 2018, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, with burial to follow, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
