Madonna Louise Breier, age 93, of Springfield, MO, passed away Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Cox Medical Center South. She was born May 6, 1923, in Boone, IA, to Roscoe and Ruby (Boyd) Sparks. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. Madonna retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company after thirty-eight years of service. She enjoyed traveling and playing computer games. Madonna played the wash tub with the S.K.U.M.S. of the Pioneers. Madonna and her swim buddies met daily for water exercise.
She was preceded in death by her parents,Roscoe and Ruby Sparks, and a grandson, Ryan Fay. She is survived by her three daughters, Linda Medaris, Warrensburg, MO, Rebecca Fay and husband Jerry, Rockland MA, and Janet Lassley and husband Jack, Springfield, MO; four grandchildren, Shannon Rogers and husband Zach, Sean Fay, Jeremy Lassley and wife Lisa, and Jennifer Lassley; two great grandchildren,Kayleigh and Camden Lassley; one brother Dr. Dale Boyd Sparks, California; and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at Grace United Methodist Church, with Rev. Diana Hagewood-Smith officiating. Burial will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Springfield, MO. Visitation will be held from 1-2 pm on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at Grace United Methodist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Grace United Methodist Church. Services have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO.
