Marie Stewart, 75, passed away on August 31, 2009 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Mo. She was born on November 5, 1933 in St. Louis, Mo. She was a long distance operator with AT&T and received many accommodations through the years. Marie was a member of the Sweet Adelines and attended Holy Trinity Catholic Church. She loved playing bingo and spending time with her family. Marie was preceded in death by both parents and three siblings. She is survived by her daughter, Gina Brees; her granddaughter, Alex Miller; her cousin, Dot Beyer and her niece, Patty Patterson. Marie was a loving person and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 2, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home South. Funeral services will also be held at Greenlawn Funeral Home South on September 3, at 1 p.m. The family requests that you wear cheerful colors as this is a celebration of Marie’s life and not her passing.
