Marilyn Jane Ray, age 78 of Springfield, MO, went to be with our Lord Sunday, August 7, 2016. She was born January 18, 1938 in Newburg, MO, to Claude and Callie (Umlauf) Ray. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Carl, and sisters Lou Ellen, Freda, and Claudine and a nephew Ray Dean Kensinger.
She is survived by her niece, Vicki Thornton, and her family of Savannah, TX and nephews Alvin Vance, Stanley McIntosh, Mike McIntosh and Mitch McIntosh, and their families of Wichita, KS, well as her dear friends Claudine Prater and Dorothy Davidson, both of Springfield, MO.
Those who knew her loved her sense of humor, shook their heads at her stubbornness, and admired her quiet faith. She was an artist, a dental lab technician, a custodian at the public library, and friendly to all she met.
Thank you to Integrity Hospice & Palliative Care, who made it possible for her to remain in her home, cared for by her friends.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 11, 2016 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, August 12, 2016 in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Online condolences may be made at www.greenlawnfuneralhome.com.
