Mary Elizabeth Snidow received her eternal crown on December 23, 2015. Mary was born in Salisbury, Missouri on February 23, 1915 to Loren and Alberta Allen. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, John and Jim Allen, her heroic son, Cpl. Stephen A. Snidow, her treasured son-in-law, David L. Hibner, and her beloved husband of fifty-one years, Charles C. Snidow. She is survived by her caring daughter, Nancy E. Hibner, four grandchildren, Lori E. Jones, David C. Hibner, Sara E. Brookhouse, and Stephen S. Hibner, several great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, two nieces and one nephew. She also leaves behind her best friend of seventy years, Helen M. Johnson of Kansas City, Missouri.
Mary grew up in Moberly, Missouri and graduated from Moberly High School. She then attended Chillicothe Business College in Chillicothe, Missouri where she met her husband. She was a member of Parkview Christian Church in Springfield, Missouri, N.A.R.V.R.E., and Social Order of Beauceant.
Mary’s 100 year journey here on earth included a few tears and lots of laughter. Mary was known for her kindness and tender disposition. A lesser known fact was that Mary was the UNO and Bingo queen; her family often teased her and called her a card shark. Mary would proclaim she wasn’t; with a twinkle in her eye. She never met a stranger and was loved by so many.
Special thanks to the staff at Ravenwood Assisted Living in Springfield and the Good Shepherd Hospice group. Your loving words and actions will never be forgotten.
