Mary Ellen Politano, age 89, of Oak Grove, MO, passed away Monday, June 6, 2016. She was born July 6, 1926, in Springfield, MO to John and Brooksie (Hederick) Bethurem. She loved to garden and work with flowers. She loved her family and spending time with them. She was admired for her love and devotion to her family and friends. She will be remembered for her sense of humor and her prayerfulness. She loved to cook, she would make all the kids a different meal, if they wanted anything special. We joked about mom being a short order cook.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, and her husband Alexander Politano. She is survived by her children; Dan Rice, Frank Rice, Norris Rice, Connie Sunshine Batzold and Christine Politano, 15 grandchildren, several great and great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, June 11, 2016, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO. Burial will be follow in Mt. Comfort Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday,in the funeral home. Services have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO.
