Mary Etta Brink of Springfield, Missouri, left our world for another, better, and well-deserved one on Friday, January 16th, 5:14pm at Mercy Hospital. She was affectionately called “Granny” by those who knew and loved her. Mary was preceded in death by grandparents, her father Stanley Earnest Hager, mother Rosetta Laufer, daughter Brenda Joyce Atkinson, first husband Howard Loyd Atkinson, and husband Donald Ray Brink, Sr. She is survived by five children: Bill Atkinson, Stan Atkinson, Kathy Wiertzema , Steve Atkinson, and Deana Swartz. She was also loved by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She lived her life in the fast lane for many years; she enjoyed her motorcycles and could teach you how to rebuild a carburetor. She had beauty fit for the big screen and was even a nominee for Miss Springfield. Mary had the biggest heart, loving everything that breathes, and on the day of her viewing was even kept company by a little ladybug on her quilt. Mary was a loving mother, wife, sister, aunt, and grandmother. She will be intensely missed by her family and friends. Thank you, Granny, for always letting us know that we are loved.
