Mary L. (Barnett) Baldwin passed away March 1, 2016, in Springfield, MO. She was born February 19, 1925 in Weona, AR. The family moved to Pierce City, MO in 1930, where she attended and graduated from Pierce City High School in 1943. Mary and Elmo Baldwin were united in marriage on February 23, 1946 in Mt. Vernon, MO. They had two sons, Tom and his wife Denise and Michael and three grandchildren, Kiley Baldwin, Christian McDonald and Ashley Clair.
Mary chose secretarial work for a career and her first job was at the War Time Rationing Office in Mt. Vernon, MO. Each of her jobs, as well as all her co-workers, were greatly enjoyed. Upon retirement, Mary enjoyed tending her flowers and yard and visiting with friends and former classmates and being active at St. Paul United Methodist Church.
Preceding her in death was her husband of 64 years, Elmo Baldwin, son Michael, parents William Barnett and Sylvia Messley and sisters, Margaret Goff and Betty Dugan.
Graveside services will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens cemetery on Friday, March 11, 2016 at 10:00 am with Sister Elizabeth officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Springfield Animal Shelter, 4002 N. Farmer, Springfield, MO. Services have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home South.
