Mary Rose “Moe” Palmer, age 77, of Nixa, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 10, 2009, in Springfield. She was born February 14, 1932, in Grove, Oklahoma, the daughter of Onas N. Jones and Georgia N. (Sevens) Jones. Mary was raised in Sand Springs, Oklahoma, at the Sand Springs Home. On November 11, 1950, she married A. Eugene “Knute” Palmer, and they were blessed with 58 years of marriage. She loved her family and enjoyed spending her time with her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of North Nixa Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Knute of the home; four children, Gary Palmer and wife, Deborah of Nixa, Missouri, Pam Whorton and husband, Russ of Owasso, Oklahoma, Marilyn Palmer of Nixa, Missouri, and Scott Palmer and wife, Kelli of Sand Springs, Oklahoma.; 12 grandchildren, Kristen Palmer, Kaleb Whorton, Marin Cooney and husband, Jim, Jared Palmer, Jennifer Palmer, Tiffany Eggleston and husband, Jarrad, Jessica Wammack and husband, Brad, Madison Whorton, Macy and Ashton Palmer, Kendra, and Tom Neal; eight great-grandchildren, Darian, Brandon, Haden, Paris, Ryman, Hallie, Emmalin and Brynn; one brother, Joe Jones and wife, Georgia of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Georgia Randolph and husband, Les of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and many neices and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Harold and Louie Jones; and one sister, Eula Cowan. Memorial services will be held on Monday, at 3 p.m. September 14, in Greenlawn Funeral Home South, 441 W. Battlefield, with Pastor Jerry Fransico officiating. Mary’s final resting place will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
