Matt's infectious smile and laughter is one of many memories that I have of Matt. Riding bikes together and seeing how amazed he was at the mountains of Colorado. Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers. Sending hugs! Love you all <3

I remember Matt from his teen years. He stood out with his smile and laughter when he was around his friends, and really anytime! Many times, I would purposely grocery shop at Dillons so I could receive a smile from him. Please know that his family and friends are in my prayers.

I worked with Matt at Dillons and from there we always conversed when we crossed paths. Matt had the best smile and the best eye roll followed by a laugh...lol. Always was willing to help out no matter what. May you all as a family embrace and be comforted during this time and in the future. Matt is safe in HIS arms. He is free!! Love and blessings ALWAYS .

Matthew was such a special person! I was his kindergarten teacher and loved every second of it! He was helpful, friendly, polite, always cheerful and a good friend to everyone in our class. All of the other kids wanted to sit by him in class and at lunch, and they all wanted to play with him at recess. Matthew was a treasure!

There really aren't enough words to celebrate Matt's life. I can only speak from personal experience. I first met Matt in kindergarten. I wouldn't stop looking at him dead in the eyes when we were first placed in school. He looked at me and said, "WHAT?!" From that moment on, we were connected. I wish that I could describe to people the positive feelings that he provided everyone around him, but I cannot. It was a feeling. Something you cannot describe. Matt taught me a lot about life, as he was extremely intelligent. As book smart as he was, he sure did have a lot of street smarts. He truly took me under his wing in early high school and taught me the ropes. We experienced, and discussed, real life together. We shared a lot of friends and a lot of memories together. We understood each other in ways that other people could not. He was so positive, even in the worst situations. I will never forget Matt, as he helped shape me into the person that I am today.

I am so sorry to hear this news. I met Matt while working at Dillons during the summer. My mom, Vickie, was the bakery manager. I worked along side Matt and he was a lovely human. Always a joke and a laugh. He was a kind, funny and inclusive person. I’m so sad to hear he is gone. My thoughts are with his family and friends. 💜
