Michael Carl Knox, age 63, of Springfield, MO, passed away Monday, June 1, 2015 at Mercy Hospital. He was born October 27, 1951, in Cambridge, England, to Edwin and Colleen (Cotterman) Knox. He was a member of the Brookline Church of Christ. He served in the United States Air Force, retiring after 23 ½ years. Michael loved fishing and hunting with his grandsons, wood carving, Cardinal Baseball, Steelers Football. He was remembered for his straight forwardness and generosity, he loved his family. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Teresa Knox, son: Nathan Shaw, daughter: Sarah Michele Allee, son: Michael Carl Knox II, Las Vegas, NV, daughter: Rebecca Ann Jones brothers: Edwin Knox, PA, Steve Knox, PA, and Dave Knox, FL, sister: Kathleen Schilling, FL, grandchildren: Isaac Shaw, Aaron Shaw, Annalise Shaw, Benjamin Michael Allee, and big sister: Marion Gail Hicks, Bartlesville, OK, and mother-in-law: Connie Lucille McMillan, Bartlesville, OK.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, June 4, 2015, at Greenlawn Funeral Home East, with Mr. Tony Gentry officiating. Burial will be held at a later date in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, MO. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. before services.
