Michael Green was born in Los Angeles County on June 8^th,1961. He passed away at Barnes in St. Louis on February 15th, 2021.

Mike grew up in Corpus Christi, Texas before he moved to Urbana, Missouri in Junior High where he attended and graduated from Skyline school. It was at Skyline that he met his best friend and the love of his life, Carla Green. They married in 1979 and moved to Needville, Texas for a short time before returning to Urbana.

Mike and Carla moved to Springfield in 1983. Three years later they welcomed their daughter, Shanda Rochelle, into their lives. The minute Mike laid eyes on her, she became his very special brown eyed girl and the tradition of calling her every time the song played continued through the last time he heard the song. Mike started Aztec Computers in 1995. He successfully built up his business before selling it in 2008. After that, he began working in real estate where he found his true passion.  Most of these clients also became his friends.  Another perk to this was he was able to work with Shanda beginning in 2012.  When he was diagnosed with Leukemia in 2019, Shanda along with the rest of the team kept things going and still operate Green Realty Group with Murney Associates.

Mike enjoyed spending time with his family at home, at the lake, and on vacations. Two of his favorite roles were being PaPa and Uncle Mike.  He was a talented musician who could play any instrument he picked up but most loved to play the piano. He played keyboard in a band, received his pilot’s license, his sailing certification, taught Spanish at his church and built houses in Nicaragua with Project Hope multiple times. He loved traveling, playing games, cooking and having deep philosophical and scientific conversations.

Mike is proceeded in death by his father and mother, William Floyd and Wenonah Green and his father-in-law Carl Green. He will be greatly missed by Carla, his wife of 41 years, his daughter and son-in-law, Shanda and Daniel Boling, and his grandchildren, Ruby Elaine and Christian Michael. All you had to do was say their names and he was all in for anything that involved spending time with them.  He is also survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Kay and Dyke Henderson. He will be missed by his mother-in-law Ruby Green, his brothers and sisters- in- law, Gene and Ruthie Bybee and Jackie and Terri Green, as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Mike was adopted at the age of 3 and had recently connected and met his birth mom, Margo Paz, and several siblings that he was not able to meet. Mike will be missed by many friends and countless people whose life he made an impact on.

Visitation will be held at Greenlawn Funeral Home East on Thursday, February 18 from 5:00-7:00. Funeral will also be at Greenlawn Funeral Home East on Friday, February 19 at 11:00 am followed by a graveside service at Howard Chapel in Urbana at 2:00 pm.
