Mildred Lois (Moss) Joy
Mildred Lois Moss Joy went to be with her savior on July 15, 2009, in Maranatha Village, following a short illness. Mildred was born August 9, 1911, the daughter of J.M. and Lena Moss, on a farm near Golden City, Missouri.
In May , 1928 she married the love of her life , Robert S. Joy. They were married 63 years. They had two sons, William and James. They moved to Springfield in 1945. Mildred was a longtime employee of Libscomb Grain and Seed Company.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Robert; her brother Wallace Moss; sister Gayle Kinser; and daughter-in-law Mary Jane Joy.
Mildred is survived by two sons, William Joy and wife Helen, Springfield Mo., and James Joy and wife Marledeen, of Grantville, Kansas; five grandchilden Edward Joy and wife Jill of Springfield, Jeanie Schuler of Topeka Kansas, Cathy Hering and husband David of Topeka,Kansas, Katherine Mize and husband James of Willard, Missouri, and Joe Joy and wife Linda of Topeka, Kansas; and eight great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Mildred loved her life, love for her savior, family and friends. She was always helping someone or volunteering whenever possible.
Visitation will be held in Maranatha Village Chapel at 1:00 p.m., Monday, July 20, 2009, with services following at 2:00 p.m.
