Morris passed away in his home on July 21st, 2016. On November 24th, 1947, Earl Morris Rothermel was born to the union of Earl Rothermel and Virginia Burgess, who preceded him in death, and a stepfather, Carl Haden that changed his life many ways, and whom he loved as a real father.
To everyone who knew him he was known as Morris. In March of 67, Morris married the love of his life Rebecca “Becky” Curtois. To this Union they had two children, son Brian Rothermel and daughter Shannon Rothermel. Later adding a son-in-law Brett Rodman who survive him. Morris was an avid bowler with many trophies and patches to prove it. Morris also enjoyed a fun game of gambling, whether in Vegas or just on an electronic device. Morris lost Becky in July of 1976. He made his two children his number one priority and raised them with the utmost love, and care that exceeded a single father. Morris is also survived by his only sister and his best and truest friend Shirley Brunson, two beautiful granddaughters he thought the world of, Chelsea Thornton and Brianna “JJ” Rothermel, as well as two great grandchildren, Colt and Skyla. He had, and loved many neices, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law , and sisters-in-law. Morris not only loved his family with all his heart, he always made sure they were taken care of the best of his ability. He was our friend, our Confidant, our advisor, our helper, but most of all he was our dad. We will love you, miss you, and carry you with us every day. May you now rest in peace.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, July 26 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
