Opal Irene Hughes 89, Joplin, MO. passed away March 4, 2021 after a long illness. She was born on July 18, 1931, to Elza and Grace Mitchell. She was an interior painter for many years. She loved spending time with her family, she also loved gardening, raising Maltese and Yorkie dogs and Blues Music.
Opal was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John B. Hughes, and her son, Jimmy Dale Davis. Opal is survived by her children: Jackie Lynn Davis and his wife, Donna, Judy Kay Davis, and Bobby Joe Davis and his wife, Susan, seven grandchildren, several great and great-great grandchildren, her sister: Mildred Foregy and her husband, Carl and two brothers: Leon Mitchell and Albert Mitchell and his wife, Bonnie
Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 11, 2021, at Rivermonte Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Memorial Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
