Peggy Lou (Copeland) Vance beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2022.
Peggy was born July 4, 1940, in Durham, NC, daughter of Lanis and Roberta Copeland. She married Carl Vance in 1956, and they were blessed with two sons.
Peggy worked tirelessly alongside of Carl in their glass business. They enjoyed spending winters on South Padre Island, Texas for 22 years. There they enjoyed the beach, tennis, game time and dining with a multitude of friends.
Upon returning to Springfield, MO, they embraced their love of fishing at Pomme de Terre, and became friends with other avid fisherman. On her last outing, just weeks before she passed, Peggy was thrilled to land a large walleye.
Peggy is preceded in death by her parents, Lanis and Roberta Copeland; her father and mother-in-law, Herb and Alline Vance; two brothers-in-law Ron Vance and Roger Borders
Peggy is survived by her husband of 65 years, Carl; two sons Brent (Cathi) and Scott (Kelli) Vance, three grandchildren, five great grandchildren; two brothers Richard (Bertha) and Bill (Kathleen) Copeland; two sisters-in-law Shirley Sade-Vance and Gwen Borders; and many other treasured family and friends.
A celebration honoring the life of Peggy Vance will take place on January 7, 2022. Service will be at 10:30 am at Greenlawn Funeral Home East, with visitation 30 minutes prior beginning at 10 am. Online condolences may be done at www.greenlawnfuneralhome.com
