Nancy Jane McFarland-Gregory, 57, of Springfield, MO, passed away at home in the arms of her husband on Tuesday, May 26, 2015. Nancy had a 25 year battle with Multiple Sclerosis which she handled with grace, courage, class and her wonderful sense of humor.
She was born July 20, 1957 in Kansas City, MO to Roy and Jane McFarland. Nancy graduated from Hickman Mills High in 1975 and Missouri State University in 1979 with a major in electronic media.
Nancy was a truly kind soul who had many friends and no enemies. She would charm everyone who met her with her wit, her kindness to all, and her willingness to tell it like it is. Nancy loved all her “kitty cats” over the years with great affection and care. One of Nancy’s great loves was dancing. In her younger years she studied ballet, was a member of her high school drill team and later became a “disco queen”. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, John Gregory of Springfield; her sister, Pat Donnell and her partner Dennis Koll of St. Louis; her brother, Mike McFarland and his wife Mary; her nephew, Matthew McFarland and his wife Marsha; and her niece, Karen McFarland all of Kansas City.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 1, 2015 at Greenlawn Funeral Home South in Springfield, Missouri.
In Lieu of flowers, Nancy would have appreciated a donation to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
