Nancy (Pinegar) Skidmore, 74, born in Springfield, MO on June 17, 1942 died on September 8, 2016. Nancy graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1960, and was a lifelong resident of the Ozarks. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband and best friend, Doug Skidmore as well as her parents Howard and Bernadine Pinegar, sister Janice Lawrence, and brother David Pinegar (Deborah Pinegar).
Nancy is survived by daughters Jennifer Skidmore (Dana Scott) and Stacye Scott-Wilson (Shane Wilson), grandsons Jaxon Skidmore and Nazareth Wilson, brothers Mike Pinegar (Donna Pinegar) and Gary Pinegar (Gail Fritz), and sister Debbie Rogers. She is also survived by her three best girlfriends, Barb Jarvis, Barbara Taylor-Summey, and Licha Kelly-King, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Nancy was a talented cook who loved feeding people. After retiring from The Vermillion Company after 27 years, she was happy to run errands and prepare lunch for Doug, and anyone who came to visit his shop which was adjacent to their house at Wilson’s Creek National Battlefield. She loved showing off photos of her grandsons, shopping, taking walks, and traveling. She and Doug especially loved their beach vacations, cruises, and visiting friends in Alaska.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 12, 2016, in Greenlawn Funeral Home North, with burial to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
