Nelley Clastine (Wightman) Holyfield, 86, passed away August 28, 2009, after a short illness, in Springfield, Mo. She was born in Plymouth, Mo., on December 22, 1922, the daughter of George Franklin and Ruth Jane Wightman. She was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church. She enjoyed being a housewife and mother, and being with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jerry, of 54 years; also by three brothers and four sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Jenelle Holyfield of Springfield, Mo.; her son, Don Wightman and his wife, Fran of Rogersville, Mo.; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and friend Marjorie Steffke.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2009 from 12 noon – 1:00 pm at Greenlawn Funeral Home South. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 pm at Missouri Veterans Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and left at the funeral home.
