Nelson A. Bryant Jr.
Nelson Andrew Bryant JR, 84, of Branson Missouri passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at his home in Branson.
Nelson is survived by his wife Deloris of 61 years, daughters Cynthia Ann Bryant, Branson MO, Crystal Lynn Mitchell and husband Brian Mitchell, Blue Eye MO and 5 grandchildren, Jordan Mitchell, Alexis Mitchell, Christian Mitchell, Andrew Mitchell and Isaiah Mitchell and one great grandson Mason Mitchell, sisters Lois Stoops, Englewood OH and Joann Miller, Atlanta Georgia He was preceded in death by his father, Nelson Andrew Bryant Sr., mother, Opal Loveall Bryant, brothers, Capper Bryant, Jack Bryant, Floyd Bryant, Billy Bryant and sister, Mary Ellen Newton. Nelson was a loving father, husband, grandfather and friend to all.
Nelson loved his church and was a member of the Open Doors United Methodist Church of Blue Eye MO. He enjoyed traveling and watching his grandchildren compete in sports and he would not miss a dance recital, music concert or graduation. He was involved with and served the Lions Club Organization for over 50 years. Nelson graduated from Central Missouri State in 1956 with a B.S. in Social Science and Education, M.S. in Education in 1957 and in 1970 with a Doctorate in Education from the University of Missouri. Nelson served as a teacher, coach, school administrator and superintendent for over 38 years, retiring in 1995.
The Celebration of Life for Nelson will be at Open Doors United Methodist Church in Blue Eye MO on May 23, 2015 at 2pm. Nelson will be laid to rest at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, MO. Donations may be made to the Open Doors United Methodist Church Blue Eye MO.
