Norman Everett Reed took Jesus’ hand at 8:25 a.m. on Saturday, January 16th, 2016 and was led through the pearly gates into heaven at the age of 83 years old. He was born on September 14th, 1932, in Springfield, Missouri. He attended Second Baptist Church and enjoyed many friendships from their Sunday school class. He loved fishing at his cousin’s pond, was an avid bowler in his earlier years, and when he was young he played the trumpet and drums.
While working at the Ford Motor plant in Detroit, Michigan he met a beautiful girl named Fay Griesel whom he later married on August 14, 1954. They would remain married and raise their family of 4 daughters, Karen, Diane, Yvonne and Laurie in Springfield, Missouri. Norman and Fay celebrated their 61st marriage anniversary this past August.
Norman was preceded in death by his parents Everett Edward Reed and Alda Augusta Brookshire (Reed), and a very special aunt Pauline Mastries. He is survived by his wife Fay, his sister Linda Fields, and daughters Karen Bradford and husband Rob, Diane Reed, Yvonne Massey and husband Lindy, and Laurie Levell and husband Rocky, all of Springfield, Missouri. He had 7 grandchildren, whom he adored – Summer Bryant and husband Chris, Austin Massey, Eric Levell and wife Katie, Kara Lindsay and husband Jonathan, Scott Davis and wife Robin, Kirk Bradford, and Adam Bradford and Jessica Alanis. Norman had twelve great grandchildren as well.

Visitation will be at Greenlawn Funeral Home East, Springfield, MO Tuesday, January 19, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be at the funeral home Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Chris Bryant officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Springfield, MO.
