Opal Bernice Wilcox, 99, Springfield, MO. passed away November 23, 2020 in Glendale Gardens Nursing Center. She was born on January 2, 1921, in Owasso, Oklahoma, to Elgin and Jennie (Meade) Breeden. She was a homemaker, and a member of National Heights Baptist Church. Opal loved her family most of all, she also enjoyed quilting, fishing, and American Indians.
Opal was preceded in death by her one true love, her husband, Ned Wilcox, her parents, her daughter: Linda Rolufs, and her grand-daughter: Tammy Kay (Schulle) Wilcox. Opal was also the last survivor of her twelve siblings. She is survived by her three sons: Terry Wilcox and his wife Pat, Johnny Wilcox and his wife, Bonnie, and Donald Wilcox and his wife, Becky, along with several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 27, 2020, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, with Pastor Gary Longstaff officiating. Burial will follow, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be one hour before services from noon to 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
