Phillip Bollinger, 61, Springfield, MO. passed away on July 2, 2022, from cancer. He was born on December 16, 1960, to Eli and Donna (Roberts) Bollinger in Springfield, MO. Phillip graduated from Hillcrest High School. He retired from The Developmental Center of the Ozarks on February 20, 2021 after 17 years of work. The DCO Staff was his “work family” and he loved his job there.
Phillip was preceded in death by his father, Eli Bollinger and his brother, Tom Bollinger. He is survived by his mother: Donna Bollinger, his sister, Lucie Shultz (Gary), his brother Steve Bollinger (Connie) and his nieces and nephew: Becky Gempeler, Sara Roper and Geoff Bollinger.
Phillip was an athlete for A Sporting Chance and played softball and basketball. He loved fishing, cycling, watching Nascar, wrestling, Hot Rods and semi-Trucks. He loved family get-togethers and spent many hours pursuing his hobbies with his brother Steve. He fought a long battle with cancer and kept a positive outlook despite all the challenges. We all learned a lot from him.
A memorial visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 7, 2022, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to The Developmental Center of the Ozarks.
