Ralph Orvil Thornton, age 98, passed away on July 31, 2020. Ralph was born in Virgil, Kansas on September 17, 1921 to parents John and Matie (Phillips) Thornton. He served in Army as Sergeant during World War 11 through 1942-1944. He was a printer and retired from the Springfield News Leader paper.
He united in marriage to Marjorie Hair and from this unity came three children. His wife Marjorie and his children Virginia and Larry has passed away.
Only child living is Shirley Washburn from Centerton, Ar. He has a nephew Larry Thornton and wife Jane from Omaha, Ne.
Arrangements are under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home South and visitation will be there at 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on August 3, 2020.
Funeral service will be at First Baptist Church in Republic on August 4, 2020 at 10:00 am.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the First Baptist Church in Republic, Missouri.
