Raymond R. Louth passed away on February 17, 2015. He is now reunited with his loving wife of 72 years, LaVonne Louth.Ray was born in Finney county Kansas near Garden City on January 26, 1917. During his youth he worked in the wheat harvest of Kansas and Colorado. These were hard times with the dust bowl and the depression but he learned the value of commitment to a task that remained with him the rest of his life. On November26, 1939 he married Lela Lavonne Talbert at the First Baptist Church of Springfield, Mo. To this union were born two children, James “Jim” and Joyce.During WWII, Ray worked at the Armour Food plant in Sedalia, Mo., making rations for the troops overseas. Following the war, the family moved to Springfield where he was employed by Paul Mueller Co. In 1960 he was one of the original founding partners of Rose Metal Products which is still in operation 55 years later. He retired as president of this company in 1980.Ray is survived by son Jim and wife Suzanne; daughter Joyce and husband Harry Criswell. In addition, he is survived by grandchildren Christina Neale and husband Dan of W.Va., LeeAnn Neill and husband David of Springfield, Dr. William Wester and wife Dr. Christine Wester of Springfield, James Wester and wife Beth of Plano, Texas. Also surviving are great-grandchildren, Michael Wester, Christopher Wester, Will Wester, Matthew Wester, Caroline Neill, Andrew Neill, Jane Wester, Sarah Wester; nieces Jean, Roberta, and Myrna; and a special nephew Sam Lowrey of Texas.The family wishes to thank the caregivers at Integrity Home Care, Chris Brown and Judy Kiefer for the care and support during Ray’s later years.Ray was a light of faith, strength, and commitment to his family and will be missed by all who knew him.Private family services will be held Monday, February 22 at Greenlawn North with interment following. Donations in Ray’s memory may be made to First Baptist Church missionary fund, or the charity of your choice.
