Reverend Maxine Marie Hunter Howard, born 23 December 1919 in Morgan County passed away 10 October 2021 at her home in Springfield, Mo. She was married to Rev. Gail Howard, who preceded her in death in 1997. They pastored in Kansas for nearly 50 years. She had one sister, Juanita Lietzke and two brothers, Bob and Bill Hunter, all of whom preceded her in death. She had one son, David Howard, who passed away in 1997, married to Barbara and two daughters, Ruth Kaunley of Springfield, Mo., married to Sam and Deborah Highfill of Pleasanton, Ks., married to Guy. She had eight grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren and a host of loved nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:0 PM, Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at Sanctuary Of Hope in Branson under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home in Branson.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, October 14, 2021 at the First Assembly of God Church in Overland Park, Kansas with Terry Yancey, Kansas District Superintendent, Rev. Guy Highfill, Rev. Phil Kreiling and Rev. Sam Kaunley officiating. Burial will follow in the Johnson County Memorial Gardens.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at First Assembly of God Church in Overland Park, Kansas. Arrangements in Overland Park are under the direction of Johnson County Funeral Home.
