Richard Douglas Thompson 72, Springfield, MO passed away Thursday, March 3, 2016 in Cox Medical Center South. He was born on April 10, 1943 in Hermosa Beach, CA to Richard and Rosella (Alstead) Thompson. He was a member of The Assemblies Of God Church.
Doug is loved by many, including his wife, 5 sons, 11 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. He is remembered for his kind spirit, bright smile, and caring attitude. He had a personality that people were drawn to and he genuinely cared about each and every person. We take great comfort in knowing that he is reunited with his dad, mom, and many loved ones. We look forward to being reunited with him.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 8, 2016, in Greenlawn Funeral Home East. Burial will follow, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be be Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
