At 3:52 PM on May 6, 2019 Rick left us to make a long awaited trip to Heaven. He spoke many times of being ready to see his Lord and maker and to be with the people he missed and loved, Norman Jantz, his first wife Shirley Melton and second wife Wilma Phillips, and others.
Rick was a very wealthy man when it came to friends and family, his first wife Shirley Jean and he were blessed with 4 children, Sherry Lynn Breshears, Troy Lee Phillips, Lisa Gaye Shepherd, and Kelly Fore. He was a member of the Ozark Hills Studebaker club for many years. Rick was also a long standing member of the Central Baptist Church and had attained the position of Deacon.
Rick’s second wife Wilma blessed him with 4 more children from a previous marriage. Margaret May, Virginia Swain, Edward Chandler, and Wanda Hart. Rick worked very hard to be a good father to all of the children and through good and bad of any endeavor of this complexity he was very successful and loved all of his children equally and that love was in turn given back to him by all of the children, Rick also had an adopted daughter April Roberts.
Rick was a hardworking man and spent approximately 25 years at the local Ford dealership as a front end man and after he retired from Ford him and one of his best friends Norman Jantz opened their own shop K-Street Alignment and when he retired from his business he passed the business to his son Troy in order to keep it in the family.
Rick is preceded in death by his previous wives Shirley Jean and Wilma, and one daughter Margret May. His mother and step father, Maxine Heinbuch West and Raymond West and his father Chester Phillips also his granddaughter Kendal Fore.
In addition to his children Sherry Lynn, Virginia, Troy, Edward, Lisa, Wanda and Kelly, he is also survived by 23 grandchildren and 46 great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who know him. Rick had been lucky and was great friends with a true lady Mary Stoops, who was his constant companion and they enjoyed church and tried to never miss a service, and the Oldfield Opry country music show.
