Ricky Joe Baker, age 51, of Morrisville, MO, passed away Friday, March 20, 2015 in his home. He was born October 12, 1963, in Springfield, MO, to Jack and Ruth Elaine Baker. He served in the United States Army and the National Guard. Ricky spent most of his carrer driving a semi, he was probaly the most proud of hauling oversize loads. When not driving, Ricky enjoyed playing golf, and fishing, he was a huge NASCAR fan, rooting for Dale Earnhardt and Dale Earnhrdt Jr. , at one point Ricky tried his hand at bull riding, where he even won a couple of rodeo events. His greatest love was taking his family on trips.
He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Candy Baker and Donna Baker; and two brothers, Ronnie Baker and Jeffrey Dean. He is survived by three sons, Mark Baker and wife Sonja, Dunnegan, MO, Travis Baker, Dunnegan, MO, and Bryan Densmore, Springfield; three step-daughters, Polly Tuttle, the state of Arkansas, Courtney Hubert, Galena, MO, and Dena Hubert, Galena, MO; father,Jack Baker, Springfield; mother,Ruth Elaine Baker, Springfield; numerous garndchildren; two brothers, Robert Baker, Springfield and Randy Baker, Nixa; and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO with Rev. Patty Smith officiating. Burial will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Springfield, MO. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Services have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO.
