Robert Eugene Giefer passed away peacefully in the very early hours of April 15th with loved ones by his side. He’s reunited with his wife in heaven of almost 69 years Patricia Ann Giefer whom preceded his death by a little over a year. He is survived by his four children Cindy Ann Rogers (Steve) Kansas City MO, Sherry Lynn Britt (Kevin) Springfield MO, Kevin Eugene Giefer (Ronay) Springfield MO, and Stephen Edward Giefer (Autumn) Franktown CO.
He was a beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He seemed to be loved by all that came in contact. His love for sports and teams like the Chiefs, Cardinals, Royals, and Jayhawks transcended to his children and grandchildren and probably many generations to come.
He loved to crack open an ice-cold Mic Ultra & watch the Cardinals or Chiefs game, where he could use what Mom called was his “selective hearing” to tune out the rest of the world. He was indeed most happy when surrounded by his adoring children, grandchildren & friends. When at a large family gathering he would look around the room filled with his kids & grandkids & could often be heard saying “Can you believe all this me & your Mom started?”
Robert had decided 16 years ago to donate his body to science in order that his passing might help someone else down the road. He picked a Catholic University in St Louis to donate his body to help their Anatomical Science & Education department continue their important work of training tomorrow’s Doctors.
So, in that spirit, our family would like to request any donations or memorial gestures be directed to help further this research. You can find more information about the work that St Louis University does at this link:

We will also be holding a funeral mass in Robert’s memory at a time that is yet to be determined.
Heaven got a great one and we all get another angel to watch over us, but I am sure he will make time to play a little golf and of course cards with Mom and his brothers and sisters, that all reached God before him. He is perfect again, but if you ask his kids, he always was. Godspeed Bob Giefer, we will see you soon.
