Roberta Lee Middleton Murphy, 91, passed away on Monday, November 7, 2022. She was born February 20,1931 in Polk County, MO to William Floyd and Jessie Opal (Davison) Middleton.
Roberta was a longstanding member of True Hope Missionary Baptist Church. She loved her family and boasted about her 21 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. They were her best friends and she was theirs.
Well known for her exceptional quilts and handiwork she was always ready to stitch with love.
After retiring from Southwestern Bell, she volunteered at Cox Health and Hospice Compassus.
She touched a lot of lives and hearts and left this world a better place.
Roberta is survived by her son, Dale Murphy and his wife Susan and 2 daughters, Sandy Norman and Cyndi Ford all of Springfield and a daughter-in-love Karen Murphy in Lafyette, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years Donald Gene (Doc) Murphy, her parents, her son, Charles Murphy, a brother, Bill Middleton and grandson Eric Taylor.
