Ronald Duane Sheets, age 71, of Springfield passed away Saturday, August 24th, 2019 at Birch Pointe Health and Rehabilitation.
Ron was born March 1, 1948, in Joplin, MO to Robert Duane and Peggy L. Sheets. Ron worked for Frieden Calculators for several years and retired from Crown Petroleum as a manager after working there for over 20 years. Ron enjoyed photography and playing the trumpet. He loved to learn by taking college courses, his favorite was Calculus. He will always be remembered for his witty sense of humor and his infectious smile.
Survivors include his son, Richard “Duane” Sheets and Kris Lewin of Galveston, TX; one sister Becky Sheets and Sandy Locke; special friend, Paulette Dismang; and a host of family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Peggy Sheets.
A celebration of Ron’s life will be held Saturday, August 31st, 2019 at 1:00 pm in Greenlawn Funeral Home South; location of Greenlawn South is on 441 West Battlefield Street, Springfield, MO 65807.
