Rosalie (Thorne) Bloxom, age 84, passed away on November 10, 2015, in Springfield, Missouri after a brief illness. She was born in Salina, Kansas and lived most of her early years in Coffeyville. She graduated from KU with an art education degree and taught junior high and high school art. She married Maurice Bloxom in 1955 and had 3 children. She worked as a book keeper for a local physical therapist until her retirement.Rosalie was involved in many groups including Red Hats, her Sunday school class, Studio 55 Fine Arts, Springfield Photography Club, PACE and Silver Sneakers. She especially enjoyed her close-knit group of card-playing friends. She was a talented artist and photographer and loved playing games of all sorts.Rosalie is survived by son Bruce Bloxom and Patricia, daughter Laura Bloxom Hundley and Scott; grandchildren Graeme Hundley, Katherine Hundley, Blake Bloxom, and Lauren Bloxom; sister-in-law Sherryl Thorne; and nephews Stan Thorne and Chad Thorne.She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice; her son, Jeffrey Bloxom; her father and mother, Frank and Merle Thorne; and her brother, Larry Thorne.Visitation will be Saturday, November 14, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 441 W. Battlefield Rd., Springfield, Missouri, 65807. The service will be held Sunday, November 15, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Campbell United Methodist Church, 1747 E. Republic Rd., Springfield, Missouri, 65804.
