Spencer Robert Buttram, age 24, of Willard, MO was welcomed to his heavenly home on Christmas Eve (12/24/2020). He was holding his momma’s hand and listening to “Go Rest High on that Mountain” when Jesus took his other hand and he let go of his earthly home. I’m sure his papa who he is named after met him at the gate.

In middle school, I played Dorothy in the school play. Spencer opened our show dressed as the Cowardly Lion. You could tell he loved it so much. He brought so much joy to our set, and to every room he walked into. Everyone loved Spencer. He was such a sweet soul. I’ll never forget him.

Spencer was in my class since elementary. As a 1st grader I remember having a crush on him as he was always the nicest boy in the room. We never saw him as any different from us, because he wasn't. Glad to see he is pain free and with Jesus. Sorry for his family's loss, but know that he was well loved and respected.

Oh Spencer! You touched so many lives at Willard, including mine. You were so funny to be around. That big ol' smile of yours always lit up the classrooms. Fly high Spence! Say hello to the our other "kids" that left Earth too early. My heart goes out to you Sheryl. You sure raised a fine young man. You did such an amazing job and was a fantastic advocate for Spencer! ❤

Spencer had such a sense of joy in all that he did. Whether he was methodically painting a canvas or patiently hiding behind a door to pop out for the ultimate practical joke, Spencer was always creating a piece of art or making a friend laugh. He always thought about others and did special things for his friends and family all the time. I miss Spencer already and I will always remember him as one of the best people I’ve known.
