Karen Sue Wright was born in Marshfield, Missouri on December 3, 1945, and went to her heavenly home on September 17, 2022 surrounded by love. Sue was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
She deeply loved her family. A loving mother and homemaker, she was a remarkable cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends, especially during the holidays. Sue was also an avid reader, and over the years amassed a vast library of books. In her spare time she loved to watch mysteries. Additionally, she was a wonderful friend to many.
She graduated from Conway High School 1963, and took business management classes at Draughn Business College.
Sue retired from the Assemblies of God Headquarters as Payroll Manager after many years of faithful service.
Additionally, she was extremely giving, helping many in need.
Sue is survived by her husband of 56 years, Jim, her daughter Kathy Cook and her husband Roy, her son Eric, her only granddaughter, Sarah Aldrich and her husband Elijah, as well as 4 great-grandchildren, who were her heart: Elizabeth, Jeremiah, Luke and Peter. She is also survived by her sister Connie Weddle and her husband Bob, sister Ann Burks, brother Bill Stroud and his wife Lynda, brother Aaron Stroud and his wife Cindi, as well as a host of family and friends, and her constant companion, her Yorkie-poo, Chloe.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 21 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Greenlawn North Funeral Home, 3506 N. National Ave., Springfield, MO. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 22 at 10:00 am, at same location.
Interment will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, 5234 W. Division St., Springfield, MO following the funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any memorial donations or contributions be made to Toys for Tots (https://www.toysfortots.org/donate/Default.aspx), a program run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve.
