Susan (Susie) Burlison Cowan
Susan Annette Cowan, 70 of Ozark, Mo passed away peacefully in her sleep in her home on Wednesday, March 10, 2021.
Susan was born August 10, 1950 to Maurice and Pauline Burlison in Springfield, Mo.
Susan retired from the Federal Medical Center where she supervised the medical records department. The last 10 years she served as a Quality Control Reviewer of catastrophe claims.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her infant daughter Carla Sue.
Her family, children and grandchildren were her joy in life.
She is survived by her two children, daughter Victoria Beck (George) of Seymour MO and daughter Christina Brake ( Mike) of Ozark MO
Six grandchildren, Caitlyn Grider, Lindsey Grider, Logan Grider, Chelsea Brake, Noah Brake and Jordan Brake. Two great grandchildren Gunner and Fisher. Three brothers, Danny Burlison (Linda), Richard Burlison ( Miriam ) and Doug Burlison. Many cousins, and nieces and nephews that loved and adored their Aunt Susie. Her dear friends Kathy and Mike Dennis.
Susan loved her Lord and was very involved in her church. She was a lifelong member of First Church of the Nazarene ( One Life Church) She was a member of New Christian Sounds where she made lifelong friendships. She was teen quizzing coach for many years, lead the children’s music program and served on her church board. Throughout her life, she worked with and encouraged single mothers. She will be remembered for her wonderful laugh and her beautiful smile.
A private family viewing will be held Wednesday, March 17th at 11:00 at Greenlawn East. There will be a graveside service open to any who wish to attend on Wednesday, March 17th at 1:00 at White Chapel Memorial Gardens on Division.
A memorial service celebrating Susan’s life will be held in the future.
