Teresa Ann Baer (Terri) was born on July 28, 1953 in Columbus, Ohio to Elman and Loretta Moore. She was the second of three children, Janis being her older sister and Thom being her younger brother.
She graduated from Marion Franklin High School in 1975, where she was a cheerleader, and was very active in student life.
Terri accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior when she was 9 years old. Her friends, Vickie and Diane Turner, were instrumental in bringing her to Christ. Terri was baptized in the Scioto River along with her older sister and their mother.
While in college Terri met Bill Baer, who became the love of her life. They were married on December 28,1974. Terri graduated from Capital University in May of 1975 with a degree in elementary education. A life- long learner and a gifted teacher, Terri later received a master’s degree in Ministry Leadership from Rockbridge Seminary.
During college her husband Bill was called to Christian ministry, a calling enthusiastically shared by Terri. Together they served in ministry almost 50 years. Terri was a joyous minister’s wife, and was very loved and admired by people in the churches they served. Bill and Terri were missionaries in South America for almost 34 years, where Terri was an unusually effective and loved missionary. She was especially sought out as a teacher, a counselor, speaker and friend.
To their heaven-blessed family God gave three sons – Jonathan, David and Daniel, all of whom were born and raised on the mission field. Bill and Terri have two precious daughters-in-law – Lisa and Kristen. They have eleven very loved grandchildren – Tyler, Nathan, Gabriella, Bella, Aiden, Vaughan, Emma, Jane, Kate, Faith and Matthew. They are expecting a twelfth granddaughter in August.
Terri’s passion in life was sharing the gospel message of salvation in Jesus Christ and discipling women. Her humility and sincerity made Terri loved and trusted wherever she lived and ministered.
She was ushered into the arms of her beloved Jesus on July 1, 2022. Terri leaves behind a grateful family and many loving friends.
