Thyra “Lee” Parker was born October 10, 1922 to Everett andlva Adams Ray in Murray, Kentucky. Died January 13, 2015 in Springfield, Mo. The family moved in 1935 to St. Louis, MO where Lee graduated from McKinley High School and Hadley Business School. She married her childhood sweetheart, William A. Parker, youngest son of James Thomas and Nora
Mae Parker also of Murray, Kentucky on June 9, 1944. They have a daughter, Carole Jean. She and her husband, Joseph Bradley, reside in Springfield, MO. Lee has 3 grandsons. Blake and Emily Bradley of Springfield, Mo, Brent Bradley of Springfield, Brian and Heather Bradley of Wichita, KS. Two great grandchildren Cameron and Makenzie of Wichita, KS. Lee is also survived by her sister, Diane Arteaga and husband, Ernie of New Melle, MO. Two nephews, Dr. Keith Kenter and wife Patty and their children, Madeline, Charlotte and Mitchel of Loveland, OH. Kelly Kenter and his children Kade, London and Hudson of St. Louis. Both Lee and her husband accepted the Lord in their teens and were Sunday School teachers at Overland Baptist Church. Lee worked at Travelers Protective Association 34 years. Her husband served his country in the US Army during WWII in Central Europe and retired after 26 years from Jackes-Evans Manufacturing in St. Louis. They moved to Springfield, Mo 15 years ago and were members of Second Baptist Church.
Services for Thyra will be at 11:30 A.M. Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at Greenlawn Funeral Home East with interment following at Missouri Veterans Cemetery Springfield, Missouri. Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:30 A.M. before services in the funeral home.
