Funeral services for Toy Dean Sims age 76 of Branson, Missouri will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, August 7, 2009 at Greenlawn Funeral Home in Branson with Pastor John Barnes officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery near Branson.
He died at 8:15 am Monday, August 3, 2009 at his home.
He was born on December 2, 1932 in Galena, Missouri the son of Atho Vivian “Dink” and Fanny Opal Perkins Sims. He had been a loan officer with the Empire Bank in Springfield, Missouri and the Nixa Bank and served on the Board Of Directors of the Bank of Kimberling City now known as Metropolitan Bank.
He built and was owner and operator of Compton Ridge Campgrounds & Lodge for 40 years until he sold it two years ago. He attended Keystone Assembly Of God Church at Reeds Spring, Missouri.
Survivors are his wife: Vinita Meadows Sims of the home. Two Daughters: Virginia Cathy Walker and husband John of Belgrade, Montana, Janine Shackelford and husband Kenny of Cape Fair, Missouri; One Son: Jeff Sims and wife Susie of Branson, Mo. One Brother, Dwain Sims and wife Sharon of Cape Fair, Missouri: One Sister, Alice Anderson and husband, Tom of Cape Fair, Missouri. Five Granddaughters; Three Great Grandsons and Two Great Granddaughters; He was preceded in death by his parents and one Grandson.
Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 pm Thursday in Greenlawn Funeral Home in Branson, Mo.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society and may be left at the funeral home.
