Velta Mae Beal Melrose was born on October 19, 1934 in Springfield, MO to Earl & Blossom Agee and passed away September 17, 2019. She was the youngest of seven siblings. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant sister, two sisters: Betty Sothern & Eleanor Callaway, and three brothers: Bud Agee, Ed Agee, & Ted Agee.
She was also preceded in death by her first husband of 35 years and father of her children: Marvin Beal, and her second husband of 22 years: Thomas Melrose; a grandson: Bryson Anstine and a great grandson: Xander Beal.
She is survived by her two daughters: Marsha (Fred) Anstine & Debbie (Walt) Van Natta, and a son Chris (Julie) Beal; ten grandchildren: Kim Rice, Courtney Sly, Walter Van Natta, Keith Van Natta, Brienne Henry, Eric Beal, Casey Beal, Colt Anstine, Joshua Beal, & Chad Beal; sixteen great grandchildren, sister-in-law; Linda Agee, and several nieces and nephews.
Velta was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church. She enjoyed flowers of any size, shape, and color – she loved them all! She loved her family and being hugged. Even in her last days, her favorite thing to say was, “Come give Gimmie a hug!!”

Visitation for Velta will be on Friday, September 20th from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Services will be on Saturday, September 21st at 2:00 pm at Greenlawn North with the burial to follow at Mt. Comfort Cemetery.
