Vernay S. Kuzas-Bowen, age 93, of Springfield, passed away on July 5, 2016. She was born in Clever and graduated from Clever High School. She worked for and retired from Lily Tulip after many years of service. After retiring, she did volunteer work for St. John’s Auxiliary for 40 years. She married Anthony Kuzas in 1995 and they were members of Brentwood Christian Church.
Vernay is preceded in death by her parents, Winnie and Leonard Estes, her husband of 49 years, Edward L. Bowen and two sisters, Floried Mount and Marcella Meacheam. She is survived by her husband, Anthony Kuzas, daughter Charlotte and her husband David Martin, a son Ron and his wife Kathleen Bowen, 4 grandchildren, Michael and his wife Nancy Martin, Melinda Jenson, Rachelle Enax and Tiffanie and her husband Chad Morrow, and 8 great-grandchildren.
A Memorial service will be on Friday, July 15, 2016 at 1:30 pm in Brentwood Christian Church with a brief visitation just prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Brentwood Christian Church or Charity of donor’s choice. Services have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home South.
