Vickie went to be with her Lord on Friday, November 11th, 2022, at the Sonshine Manor, Republic, MO. Vickie was born in California on 12/30/1952 to Raymond and Edna Mae (Young) Elliott. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Larry.
After moving to Fordland, MO, she worked at Zenith for 14 years. She then attended OTC and graduated as an Accredited Hospital Coder. She was employed by Mercy and Cox Hospitals and then worked for K-Force which allowed her to travel. While at K-Force, she was hired by the Saudi Arabia government for 3 years at their National Guard hospital. While there, she traveled extensively which includes 3 trips to Ireland, England, 3 weeks to Africa and scuba diving in the Maldives. Upon returning home, she accepted 2 separate assignments to Alaska. Both being in Barrows, Alaska which was unreachable except by plane. She accepted many assignments in the United States up until her retirement in 2019.
Vickie sponsored a young boy through Compassion International in Africa where she made her second trip to Africa to meet him and his family. She made several mission trips with Second Baptist Church, Springfield, MO where she has been a member since October 1999.
Vickie loved her red Jeep, bicycle, and her Spyder bike. She rode many miles through Missouri and Arkansas with other riders or she never hesitated to ride alone.
Because of her faith in Jesus Christ, Vickie was a strong, courageous and compassionate woman who lived it daily until her death.
A very special thanks to the staff at the Willard Care Facility, Willard, MO, Sonshine Manor, Republic, MO and Preferred Hospice of SW Missouri for all their care and compassion for Vickie.
Because of Vickie’s love for missions, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Missions, Second Baptist Church, 3111 E. Battlefield Rd. Springfield, MO 65809.
Visitation for Vickie will be 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 15, at Greenlawn Funeral Home East with service at 1:00 p.m. following the visitation. Burial will be at Fordland Cemetery.
