Violet Hoffer Williams age 85, went home to be with her Lord on May 11, 2016
Violet was born on June 25, 1930 in Kief, North Dakota to the late Mike and Katherine Frey Hoffer. In 1947 she moved with her parents to Lodi, California and graduated from Lodi High School in 1948. Violet worked as a bookkeeper in Lodi, Monterey and Stockton, California. She met and married the love of her life Claude Williams in 1962. They owned and managed a grocery business in Salinas and Watsonville
Violet and Claude temporarily retired and in 1974 moved to Reno, Nevada. Not ready for retirement they bought a country grocery in Dayton, Nevada. They again retired and moved to Arkansas and eventually bought a home near Branson, Missouri. After Claude’s death in 1990, Violet moved to Prescott Valley, Arizona. Finding she missed her many friends and the Ozarks beauty she returned to Branson.
Violet was preceded in death by her husband, Claude, her parents, brothers, Edward & wife Ella, George & wife Esther, Johnny & wife Berttra, Fred, Jack, Mike Jr, Martin & wife Mary, Herbert. Sisters, Katherine & husband Bill Yada, Bertha and husband Dave Dieterle and Pauline Polidor. She is survived by many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Violet was an active member of the Branson United Methodist Church. She shared her love of Christ by visiting the sick and homebound people. She also worked in the Thrift Shop. She loved to travel, especially with her niece Betty. They traveled from Alaska to Mexico from east coast to the west coast visiting family, friends and sights.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, May 16, 2016 at Greenlawn Funeral Home in Branson with Brother Royce Burke officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Valley Cemetery in Hollister.
Visitation will be at 9:30 AM prior to service time on Monday.
