Virginia Aston Hessee Delp was born in Short Bend, Missouri on December 11, 1917, to Gladys Fern and Allie Pearl Aston. She passed to Heaven on Monday, February 17, 2020.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Aaron Delp, and twos sons: Robert (Bobby) Hessee, and Orville (Gene) Hessee. She is survived by a son, Donald M. (Don) Hessee Sr., of Springfield, Missouri, and a daughter, Carol Hessee Moore of Garland, Texas. She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Donna Hessee, Cynthia (Cindy) Hessee Bell, Donald M. (Mike) Hessee Jr., Mark Hessee, Jennifer Hessee Christian, Judy Ann Hessee, and Paul and Steven (Steve) Moore. In addition, she is survived by great grandchildren, great, great grandchildren, and great great great grandchildren.
Virginia was a long time member of Grand Avenue Baptist Church, in Springfield. She would want to be remembered for her love for the Lord, family, friends, and precious dogs and cats she had through the years. As long as she was able, some things she loved most was to serve through her Church, read, research her ancestry, watch St. Louis Cardinals Baseball and go fishing with her husband. She was blessed to have a long, active life until the past few years.
She would also want to thank all the employees of Spring Valley Rehab. who cared for her, and her hospice nurse, Laura Berry, who provided immeasurable love and care for her.
Services will be held at Greenlawn North Funeral Home in Springfield, on Wednesday, February 19, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at Greenlawn North also.
