Virginia Loretta Baker, age 85, was called home on Saturday, June 13, 2015. Born December 23, 1929 in Northview, Missouri, to Della Flossy and Samuel Kennan Kensinger, she was the youngest of five children. Virginia was married at the age of 23 to Paul Junior Baker on December 23, 1952, at her parents’ home in Springfield, Missouri. She was a devoted homemaker throughout her entire married life. She was a wonderful cook and one of her many specialties was baking bread. She was an avid crafter and made many beautiful crocheted items for those she loved. Virginia was a member of many local Free Will Baptist churches over the years, with Kingsway Free Will Baptist Church being the most recent. She attended Kingsway for the past 12 years. She had created many special friendships over the many years that remained strong even until her last days. She was very generous, donating to many organizations over the past several years. Virginia was a devoted mother, who sacrificed for her children and a loving grandmother and great- grandmother, spending time playing games, crafting and spoiling her grandchildren. Virginia is survived by her daughter Loretta Ragsdale and husband Bill, and daughter Bonita Pratt and husband, Bill; grandchildren, Nichole Gollhofer and husband Pat, Sarah Garcia and husband Edgar, Angela Rockholt and husband Shane, and Ben Ragsdale and wife Alycia; great grandchildren, Nicholas and Patty Gollhofer, Faith Johnson, Alex Garcia, Edgar and David Garcia-Gonzalez, Paige, Christopher, Kensi, Colton and Austin Rockholt and Haydan Ragsdale; and great- great- granddaughter, Mikaela Anderson, as well as a large host of nieces, nephews and special friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul; her parents Samuel and Della Kensinger; and her siblings, Pauline Tucker, and Clyde, Raymond and Evan Kensinger. Virginia will be remembered for her faith in Christ, her care for her family, and her creative side. She will be greatly missed by many. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 15, 2015 from 6-8pm at Greenlawn North Funeral Home. The service will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at 3pm at Greenlawn North with burial following at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
