Virginia Mae (Durham) Bassham, age 88, Springfield went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 10th, 2019 at Springfield Rehab.
Virginia was born February 14, 1930 in Shamrock, OK to William and Agnes Durham. She was a graduate of West Plains High School. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Eugene Bassham October 2, 1948 in West Plains, MO. Virginia was very active at First Nazarene Church, Springfield, MO, now known as One Life Nazarene. She will always be remembered for reading her bible, as a prayer warrior and a servant to all.
Survivors include two children, Boyd Bassham and wife Mallory, Grapevine, TX, and Karen Turner and husband Bill, Springfield, seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren; three sisters, Shirley Martin and husband Jim, JoDean Pursley and husband Vern, and Evelyn Davison; and a host of family and friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Gene Bassham; one daughter, Janet Bassham; her parents, William and Agnes Durham, and two brothers, Harold and Jimmy Bill Durham.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm, Saturday, February 16, 2019 at One Life Nazarene Church. A celebration of Virginia's life will be held Saturday, February 16th, 2019, at 2:00 pm, in One Life Church of the Nazarene 3245 S Kansas Avenue Springfield, MO, with burial to follow at Eastlawn Cemetery, Springfield, MO.
