William “Bill” D. Ferguson, 83, of Springfield, MO, was reunited with his wife and lifelong partner in heaven on Monday, April 11, 2016. At the time of his death he was a resident at the Veterans Home of Mt. Vernon, MO, where the amazing nurses, CMA’s and staff patiently and compassionately cared for him.
Bill was born, August 6, 1932 in Warsaw, Florida to Nola Walsingham and Henry Ferguson. He married his best friend and lifelong partner Ruth E. Sharron of Panama City, Florida on June 17, 1956, and was in love for 56 years until her death on November 25, 2014.
Bill was a decorated Korean and Viet Nam War Veteran who spent over 20 years in the Army, and was a beloved member and servant, along with his wife, of Assembly of God churches wherever his military and retirement years lead them.
Bill’s “Pap’s” sense of humor, love for his country, and passion for his God, were examples for everyone who knew and loved him. If you didn’t find Bill “Pap” working around the house, watching Western’s or hanging out with friends, you could find him with a fishing pole trying to catch the big one.

Rocky (Yvonne) Ferguson of Panama City, FL; and son, Dr. Mike (Nancy) Ferguson of Springfield, MO; Grandchildren, James (Danna) Coapland, Stacy (Richard) Walker, Matthew (Jenna) Ferguson, Andrew (Sara) Ferguson, Brandon Ferguson and Ashley Ferguson; and 14 Great Grandchildren.
